We were all very excited about this class trip, not even a 06:00 a.m. departure time could make us less excited and diminish our joy.

First, we had a long bus ride until we arrived at the ferry. The view of the shiny water surface and fabulous white rocks we could see in the distance was fantastic. England… Just two and a half hours from Dover and we finally got to Brighton at 07:00p.m. We got key cards for our rooms, and there was still enough time for dinner and a walk on the stony, covered with pebbles beach along Brighton Palace Pier. That was on Monday, our first day in England.

On our second day we got a city tour through Brighton, delivered with insight and humour. We could explore Brighton’s hidden passageways and picturesque streets. We loved Brighton so much, it was so open-minded, tolerant, beautiful and extremely interesting. We learnt a lot that day, but that wasn’t the point. After a while we were allowed to discover the city by ourselves, but in the afternoon we took the bus to the Seven Sisters in Eastbourne. The Seven Sisters are white chalk cliffs which are one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen before. But to tell the truth, for people who are scared of the height (180m!), this striking and breath-taking landscape is not the best place!
On the third day, we decided to cancel our trip to Canterbury to spend more time in Brighton, the city we all kind of fell in love with. We had a lot of free time that day but first we went to the Upside Down House where you can take quite cool pictures. And after that we played mini golf at the Adventure Club, which was great too. The best players were even awarded at the end of our small championship.

It was awesome but it was still not the end of the day. A part of the group visited Royal Pavilion. Later, in the evening everyone who wanted went to a concert which took place just next door to our hostel. I wasn’t there but I just heard fantastic things about it.
We tried to go to bed early because a big day was ahead.

Day four, London.
After breakfast, we walked to Brighton train station. The day was rainy, but as long as we were sitting in the train we were saved from the rain. I don’t really remember how long we were on the train, maybe because I was very excited. The first on the list were Big Ben, London Eye and Westminster Abbey. We took the Tube (it is the best way to get around London in rainy weather) and a few minutes later we were walking over the Millennium Bridge, getting straight into Tate Modern museum which keeps great paintings and sculptures but the building was so impressively big that we were a little lost sometimes. After that our group split up. Some of us preferred going to Soho and visited colourful China Town, magnificent Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus, and had a cup of tea in a tea room. The rest of us went to Camden Market. Well, there we had a lot of free time again and I cannot decide what I should write about now. Anyway, I am sure whatever is possible to imagine, the reality was even better.

At 9 p.m. we returned to Brighton. And the next day at 9 a.m., our bags packed, we were in the bus on our way home, taking a lot of great memories with us…
